Permalink Reply by Darren Blick on March 9, 2011 at 16:19 I will be but they look good now but give them a week or two and I'm sure they will be as dead as the rest lol
If you don't have all the gear, lights and heating then it is just not worth the effort to grow for show
You just as well wait until later in the year when it's warm enough and just have something looking impressive on the plot

Permalink Reply by Darren Blick on August 4, 2011 at 21:19 I am having problems with my Kalsae ripening, so I have put an electric fan on them as I have been informed this helps
I have a week to get them ripe
Permalink Reply by Darren Blick on January 8, 2012 at 16:15 Well it hardly seems like a whole year has past but here we are again.
I have sown my exhibition and 250gram type onions
This year I am trying Toughball as well as Vento for my 250 gram class
I am trying a Clive Bevan giant onions seed and Robinson's Mammoth Onions for the exhibition type
Permalink Reply by John Martin on January 8, 2012 at 17:40 Hi Darren
I'm trying Globo for the 250 gram class and getting some Canto as well. Also got some Kelsea being grown on for me down south. I hope to grow my Kelsea in 20 ltr tubs

She does seem to be natural at growing them and I hope she has good success after the effort and money she has put in this year
Like me, she is another new comer and this will be her first year showing at National level

Permalink Reply by Darren Blick on January 9, 2012 at 14:59 She had excellent success last year with her onions and celery
She seems to have green fingers
She was kind enough to give me some plants last year and they were the best I had
