Just wondered if anyone has started any chillis off yet, and if so, how are you doing it?

Hi Jan, I've never heard of a heated propagator, is this something you keep indoors?

well, ma'am;  transplanted approx 12,000 Naga king chilli in 2 weeks, fear of encountering fungal disease more this years , been raining evryday.

They are excellent and a good investment which will repay itself time and time again due to less seed wasted because of improved germination.

They come in a shapes and sizes but a Two Tray Propagator is probably about right for the amateur.

Anaheim chillies are up! as well as some sweetheart melons, can't believe how quickly they've germinated!
Hi Steff, yes the heated base of the propagator is run off electricity so you need a power supply, which I don't have in my shed or greenhouse. When things have germinated I move them onto the windowsill then out to the greenhouse in a couple of weeks. You could put a seed tray in your airing cupboard if you have one, but you will need to check it every day and keep it moist, I use a water spray can.

Good luck with the chillies Marinus, after all that hard work it would be devastating to lose them.
