Has anyone overwintered any Chillies this year - and if so how are they doing?
I only bother overwintering Chiltepins (wild chillies) - as they hardly fruit in their first year and so would never really see a crop.
This year they seem to be putting on too much new extension growth a bit too early with some having put on 4" or so, so I think I may be pinching back! But only one visit from the dreaded aphids so far - so that's a bonus.

Hi Stephen!
I'm quite excited you've started this discussion as I overwintered 3 of my chilli plants for the first time. They are Hungarian Hot Wax chillies and all I did was cut them so the stem was about 10cm long - I didn't bother adding any new compost or anything, just watered them a little roughly once a week. They've been on the windowsill and have now got quite a few new leaves and one of my plants has even got some flower buds growing!
So do you recommend I pinch off the buds/leaves?
Thanks
Mandy

I would indeed give them a pinch here and there; the idea is not to remove the leaves - just simply to encourage branching / a more compact plant at the moment. Flower bud wise I would remove as they are way to early to do anything useful.
