UK Veg Gardeners

I will soon be recovering from a minor op on my foot and as hobbling around will be awkward for a few days I think I should get in a couple of good books. Suggestions please for something light, cheerful and informative to keep me from daytime tv? I like diaries and letters and stories of what other people have done with plots or gardens, rather than textbooks.

VP, a friend here, kindly sent me -

Minding My Peas and Cucumbers: Quirky Tales of Allotment Life by Ka...

which I've finished reading and would be happy to now send it on to you.

Let me know and I'll get it packed and posted by the end of the week.

Flighty that is so kind. Thank you very much indeed.

Debbie you're most welcome! I've got your address and will email you when I've posted it.
Thank you. I'm just going to email you.

I am currently reading Allotted Time by Robin Shelton.  I got it form the library I'm afraid so I can't send it.  It's about two guys with no idea of gardening who decide on a drunken evening to take on an allotment plot.  Quite amusing, maybe a tad blokey, but I'm whizzing through it.

You could get a second hand copy here

Hope you recover quickly, xx

I've read it, Donna, but thank you and I did enjoy it

I enjoyed it very much and it's great to see it's being passed on :) Here's hoping you're soon on your feet again.

Thank you VP. I should be going in within a fortnight, so have resisted the urge to start the book until I'm trying to take my mind off the throbbing foot. Good job all my digging's done :)
