I received several books this Christmas - 9 in all! Surprisingly, only one was a 'gardening' book - 'The Thoughtful Gardener', by Robin Lane Fox - I have only dipped into it thus far, but like what I found - might be one to look up?
Permalink Reply by Jan Willetts on January 10, 2011 at 0:25 Not sure if it counts, but I got Tender Vol.II for Christmas and absolutely loved it - it has really motivated me to have a go at growing some fruit too. And I'm looking forward to using my RHS Allotment Journal - big enough not to get lost inside my huuuge gardening bag:-)
i got a couple of the expert books from my son, thay are always useful! I also invested in the RHS Encyclopedia of Garden Plants A to Z , which I need for college anyway! i also got the River Cottage Diary, river Cottage everyday and family cook booksand a gardening calendar from M & S which I have written down all the seeds that need sown trying to be organised there!
But I have a thing about books anyway, and theres always great bargins on ebay and second hand shops! We dont have a proper library! thats my excuse!!

I've noticed people always use it for reference if you go to a plant sale too. Does take up a lot of bookcase space though!

I received Nigel Slater's 'Tender' vol. I and II. Brilliant - I love his food and his garden.

Permalink Reply by Una Bee on April 8, 2011 at 9:48 Santa brought me very eagerly awaited Tender I & II, Fork to Fork and The River Cottage Veg Patch. Looks like he got all our pressies from the same shop. :) A Taste of the Unexpected by Mark Diacono got good reviews so I was very happy to find that under the tree as well, I've been truly inspired by it.
