Anyone got a walk-in wonderwall? They seem such a good idea-a poly tunnel kind of thing but covered with insect prof mesh instead of plastic. I'm considering buying one-I'm tired of lashups constructed fron poly pipe and enviromesh I have to crawl under to weed-any know if they work? We decided against a poly tunnel because we have wind problems (yeah, me too!) Hoped wind would blow through this jobbie, we've lost too many cold frames from a strong blow!
Do you think I should lay out the dosh-or is the return not worth it? All thoughts gratefully received
Cheers Chaps!

I am quite happy with my water pipe and debris netting constructions, loads of bricks to weight it down and never had a problem..but if you've got the dosh go for it ........
Thanks for the thoughts Fred, I don't have that much dosh-the pension only goes so far-even less now! But I do have awful problem with all cabbage bugs and grubs as well as carrot fly, I'll have to think a bit more about it as I've a big windy garden with little shelter
Thanks again
Jen

Permalink Reply by Jan Willetts on March 25, 2012 at 1:05 We invested in a cabbage cage from Knowle nets, it's been great, very sturdy(have to brush any snow off the flat top)-but all our cabbages and spinach are grown in it to keep the pesky pigeons away. Will probably never recoup the cost, but it makes my hard work worthwhile in stead of frustrating.I use a floating mesh over the plants in the cage when they are young to prevent insects and butterflies-sounds like the wonderwall kills two birds with one stone. Our mini polytunnel has been great but very prone to storms and wind damage-we have tethered it now and I grow carrots in there.

Most unusual for a woman to have that little to say............
Permalink Reply by John Martin on March 27, 2012 at 17:33 Now Now Fred. Jennifer did say it twice. I think the wonder walls look impressive. Just dont have the dosh just now for one.

Sorry all for being in stealth mode there-new security update on puter took a scunner to my keyboard-took me ages and 4 reboots to find out what was wrong-what can I say? 1'm a gardener not a geek lol
By the time I got it working I needed a large glass of wine and a lie down in a dark room (any excuse for the wine)
Permalink Reply by Fred Hogg on March 27, 2012 at 20:22 The wine is more than allowed, but one glass is not enough for a gardener.............
Tell all those Europeans about 'safe' limits and they'll laugh in your face-in France the doctors recommend wine with antibiotics, in hospital they serve you a half bottle of wine with lunch and dinner! Here you're lucky not to die on the trolley before you even get to a ward!
