After a week of heavy rain today was fine so I busied myself with general tidying up and came across this, new blossom on the pear tree!!
Not only that, but while weeding the strawberries I found quite a few new green fruit. Not just tiddlers but a decent size. I know everyone is saying that things have gone haywire this year but you it's quite shocking when you actually see things like this. Will the plants know when it's spring next year....assuming we get a spring!

We have usually lifted all our bare root hedging by now - but is only just starting to show Autumn leaf, let alone fall.
Next week is our usual week for lifting raspberries - but again still in full leaf.
We don't like to lift and force leaf-fall (unlike others), but if things haven't moved along by mid November we may have to.
