UK Veg Gardeners

I'm running out of ideas for using courgettes. I swear one of them was only a small courgette one day, not big enough to eat and then the next day it had taken on marrow proportions. I'm growing Defender, which is a lovely dark green colour and Romanesco, a light greener and cream stripe with pretty ribs along its length.

Any suggestions for more courgettes than a girl knows what to do with?

If you do freeze grated courgette, or use it in a recipe, pop it in something like a muslin bag and squeeze out as much liquid as you can before freezing/using.

Make compost?  : /

Sell to local shops?  Make some extra £££ ;)

These soup suggestions by others sound delicious :p

Know the feeling - I've been thinking exactly the same.   I've got a recipe for courgettes on my blog - http://thegreedygardener.wordpress.com/2011/08/16/the-good-the-bad-... -  Do let me know if you like it.   A friend of mine also makes courgette soup which bizarrely I'm eating as I type this (long day in the office).    My favourite variety is Rugosa Fruilana from Seeds of Italy.
