Hello, yes it is lettuce, I stake my reputation on it! Looks like a cos type. That's a Sow Thistle next to it, and there's some grass. Sorry, showing off, tee hee. :)

The garden is due to be renovated in a couple of weeks so the lettuce's life is limited but I'll leave it until the last minute then cut it.

Permalink Reply by Donna C on September 3, 2011 at 8:39 Little Gem makes sense because i did sow some in a container in May, and the blackbirds had a good rummage in the compost and flung everything about. But surely it wouldn't have taken that long to grow would it? Over 3 months?
