As requested by Samantha Smith I am posting the details of what I've been up to today. Indoors I've sown pea Greenshaft, round courgette Di Nizza, long courgette Diamant (both from Lidl), flowers rudbeckia Marmalade free from Garden News, sweet pea America, lettuce Dazzle left from last year, and carrot Chantenay Red in loo roll tubes full of compost. I also potted on cucumber Marketmore. In the greenhouse are carrot Nantes also in cardboard tubes, and I've potted on 2 boxes of flowers Canterbury Bells. Ran out of tubes and coir pots so there'll be more next week. Anyone else had a SowFest today?

You are miles ahead of me! I never plant Courgettes until end of April or early May when all risk of frost has passed and there are much better light levels.

Permalink Reply by Colin Robinson on March 5, 2012 at 22:31 Samantha, dogs are an important feature of life round here and hound trailing is very popular in this part of the world. In fact one of the regular runs for them is over the common at the back of our village, although I wouldn't like to be the chap that has to trudge through the heather and scrub dragging the scent behind him.

Colin, your'e a lucky man to live in such a beautiful part of the country. My husband and I keep Patterdale Terriers (also known as Fell Terriers) and he reads many a book detailing people's experiences with their dogs in your part of the world.
