It seems I am always going on about Poundland, and I must admit to going into there every time I go up the town just to look at the gardening section. Some people may think that Poundland is only going to be selling a load of cheap rubbish and bypass the shop completely, but let me tell you that there are useful items in there and I end up coming back with a bag full of bits each time. For example, yesterday they had extended there Mega Value seed pack range from just packs of mixed bean varieties to a whole range of selections of salads, herbs, nice & spicy, beetroot and veg patch seeds. I ended up buying all of them, even though I don't particularly need them, so what, I'll find room on plot or in the garden somewhere. And there are decent amounts of seeds in each selection pack, 10 cue seeds, 100 spring onions, 80 raddish, 40 toms, 250 Iceberg lettuce etc etc perfect for a person on their own or a small family, it would keep them going for a while in any case and all for £1.00, they even sell the pots and soil to grow them in. Okay, I'll stop rambling on now, but has anyone else bought seeds or equipment from Poundland and been equally impressed? Or am I just very easily pleased? Do tell.

I have had loads of things from there, potato and veg growing bags, fleece, tent pegs (to hold the flece down), lots of bits and pieces but I haven't tried the seeds or plants. Like Colin my seed box is busting at the seams, but if I have to, I will go into poundland next-time I'm in town and get some, but be warned if hubby moans about me buying more seeds, I shall tell him that Samantha Smith told me to buy them.....LOL ;)

Permalink Reply by Biggreenfingers on February 24, 2012 at 10:27 I know how you feel about these shops. We have poundland then next door poundstretcher and then a few doors up b&m !!! There is so much to tempt you ! I was actually in Tesco about a week ago and they have a lot of fruit bushes, trees and other bits and pieces. I was in to get a valentines card being an old romantic :-) and ended up coming out with a blueberry bush for £2.50 for myself, thought that was a bargain.
