UK Veg Gardeners

I have returned home from holidays to find foxes have trampled my veg bed. The netting has come off the brassicas and they've been eaten. The potato plants however are doing well but i noticed they are flowering is this good/ bad should I pick them?

What's good to plant in the ground now? As I have a lot of bare patches to fill in.

Some people will say remove the flowers but farmers don't bother and they seem to get decent yields.

Still plenty of time to sow carrots, beetroot, winter greens, etc.

I sowed yesterday lettuce and radish because they don't need to much time.

I leave them because they don't see to do any harm and because I think they are really pretty! :)

When you get the flowers, it's a good sign
This is when you need to ensure they have plenty of water as they are now growing
I remove my flowers to ensure all the spare goodness and energy goes into the tubers rather than into the flower.
Not certain if it makes a difference or not but has become a habit
