Has anybody planted picasso potato tubers? As a new veggie gardener, I purchased some of these and have them chatting at the moment, have I made a good purchase here?? all the blurb was good but there is nothing like hearing it from all you experts out there...

Are they the ones with the pinky-red splodges on? If so, they look nice too! We probably all find our favourites by trial and error so I hope you like them.

A good clean white potato for eating and also good on the show bench
My local gardening group had a heaviest potato competition where we all used Picasso and put one in a 17liter polypot bag
The winner had 53Ib which was excellent for one in a polypot

Permalink Reply by Zoe Naylor on February 28, 2012 at 12:38 Yes I grew them a couple of years ago and they were a good size and tasty, though unfortunately I have problems with eelworm on my allotment which attacked them quite badly. I grow Kestrel now which seem to fair better. I'm sure yours will be fine though!
