So the Olympics is over although the Paralympics is still to come. Time to share our triumphs and disasters. What's Gold, Silver and Bronze for you so far this year in the Vegalympics, and what's in last place? My Gold goes to Lettuce 'All Year Round', Silver to Pea 'Greenshaft', Bronze to Courgette 'Di Nizza'. Unplaced and not worth the time in training was Broad Bean 'AC'.

Silver goes to courgette 'Di Nizza'. Best I've ever grown.
Bronze goes to broad bean 'The Sutton'. Always performs well and stands up to the winds we get up here!
Unplaced were onions from sets. Very poor yield from those that didn't bolt or go rotten.

Permalink Reply by Damo on August 20, 2012 at 8:15 The best veg I've grown this year has to be cucumbers (Carmen), cabbage (Ramco) and shallots (Hative de Niort) with French Beans (Sultana) closely behind. Stuck in the starting blocks was Garlic (Purple Wight) - mostly rotted away in the sodden ground. Onions from set were hit and miss.
