Got the first of the 2013 seed catalogues through the door this morning. It's nice to look at the pictures of perfect vegetables but I rarely buy seeds from any of the companies that produce glossy catalogues. You'd think they'd realize after all these years of sending them out and me not buying anything that I was a lost cause!!

But then even for smaller firms like Victoriana lines can be a little blurred. For instance fresh harvest Chilli seed is never available from Mexico until mid May - and usually later after PTSV testing (though as we now produce all our Chilli seed ourselves that example is no longer an issue for us).

That's why i never buy from any of the large companies, never had too much success with any of their seeds so stick to the small companies like premier seeds direct, never had an issue with any of their stuff, the big boys are purely there to rip you off and pay for their glossy mags ! Even tried plug plants from a couple of them, total disaster! So now i leave well alone, stick with the small tried and tested people i know .
