All you tomato growers are going to regret your decision when thee blight wipes out your crop.   Me, I'd grow grapes - sour ones, obviously!

And garlic definitely for me as well-just finished my last crop and now looking forward to my new crop (all 180 bulbs I hope this year in an attempt to keep up with my Brazilian daughter-in-law's needs)-then purple sprouting broccoli and then runner beans and then...oh help-can't imagine just having to grow one crop.  Worse than Desert Island Discs and one disc only.  Wish I could say carrots but just can't get them to grow on my allotment.

I love the fact that we all cant choose just 1 veg we like the most, me personaly i dont think there is one veg out there that i dont like, but from the reaction i got from my blog aswell tomatoes leads the way followed by garlic them the good old tatty

Tough question, but if it was just the one, it'd be a perennial veg as it would give you years supplies; Asparagus, Artichokes etc.. So think Artichokes. Delicious, lovely foliage and great flowers (if left).

peas amd runner beans  as they are simple to grow and you get a nice size harvest from so few plants

Beets and sweetcorn for me

I only grew a few things in pots last year and I have to say if I could only grow one of them again it would be the tomatoes.  They cropped for months and the flavour was delicious.  Second place French beans.
