It had broken from the tomato plant stem due to the weight of fruit. Three and a half pounds of juicy toms on one truss ain't bad. The plant has two similar trusses which I've now tied up with strings from the greenhouse roof and a smaller one. I limited it to the four trusses when I saw the number of fruit it was setting as I didn't want the plant to exhaust itself.

I know some people have nightmares at the very thought of buying cheap seed but this is a Lidl special which I'd recommend to anyone.

That`s what a site like this is all about, who`d have thought Lidl seed was this good, know where I will be heading next

David, the variety is Hildares. Lidl also sell one called Harzfeuer which is very early and a good cropper but the fruit have thick skins although the flesh is fine.

These were hanging on fine until we cut them for seed. The variety is Carmello.

And this is another called Hawaiian Pineapple - which is ripe when this colour.

Both aren't quite Cherry Tomatoes!

Well Colins have been bought from a Skoda dealership, so you expect for things to drop off....
