What a fabulous crop Debbie - was that all from one plant?
probably 2 plants, Elaine. I just removed the spuds and left the plants to grow on and have since had 2 more lots like that. Think there may be a few more left so I've been really pleased with the yield from the bag this year. There is a row on the allotment but traditionally they don't yield quite as well.
Yay, we had our first home grown spuds of the year tonight. It's probably illegal not to just boil them and slather them in butter, but I roasted them with chicken and chorizo and they were fabulous. Mmmmm.
I don't think I can wait any longer after reading all your comments - I'm going to tip one of my containers out tomorrow - fingers crossed there will be enough for a meal.
Can you get your hand down the inside of the container and rummage around first? Are there flowers on the stalks?
mine never did flower, and hardly ever do, which is a shame as I love to see them all in a row flowering away prettily. The ones I have in short rows on my allotment are the same. 4 plants have flowered, the rest aren't bothering.
