UK Veg Gardeners

Picked the first tomato of the season this morning.

The variety is Harzfeuer, a Lidl special. It is early, prolific (8/9 good size fruits per truss) and the taste ain't bad. Mild but not insipid and best of all, it didn't have the horrid thick skin that supermarket toms seem to have.

I'm envious, it looks good
I have a few varieties, bush type, cherry and normal
Plenty on the bush but none ripe yet
If it goes on too long without ripening, I'll stick a banana in to help them ripen

Looks good, I've got a few that are on the turn now, should be ready in a few days.

Mine aren't ripening, but we haven't had much sunshine lately, what do you mean about the 'banana' Darren? how does it work?

well all I have is small plants with flowers and buds in my poly tunnel . total wash out . am wondering what I can do if any thing .Wondering wether I should just pull the whole lot out .Any suggestions ??
My cucumbers are even worse dont think they have grown more than an inch in about 3 weeks just sitting there doing nothing .I need a total rethink
All thoughts welcome

You might as well leave them and cross your fingers unless you desperately need the space for something. I assume they are in their final positions and not pot-bound in small pots.

yes in there final positions in the ground so def not pot bound .

Think I am just feeling bit fed up nothing seems to be growing and if it is its being eaten buy slugs

I have resown gherkin seed today, outside cues / gherks are suffering in some parts this year. I should have gone to "Debbies Deli."
