After all the doom and gloom about the weather I have something positive to report...my first pick of new potatoes this year.
These are Lady Christl, planted in a sack in the greenhouse ten weeks ago. There were also lots of pea-size spuds and I know I should have left them another couple of weeks but when it comes to new potatoes I'm like a kid in a toy shop and I just have to have them!
The taste was divine and with Jersey Royals at £3 a kilo in the shops don't let anyone tell you that growing your own isn't worth it.

Amazing! My potatos are just 2 inch high. Greenhouse is high on my wish list.
