Love them Have them on the allotment and in my garden and the bees love them too.

I started with them when my mother planted them on my allotment

Since she died a few years ago, I have tried to keep them going each year but I have lost some to the weather

The one above in the picture was my favourite

I believe it is called a 'Red & White' believe it or not

I have just been given the website above and have ordered me a few more

I bought mine really cheap from the local 'cheapie' warehouse type store and have lifted them every year so that I get more and more to plant again in the spring. I lose some but I still get more.
and I forgot to say.......those Red & White's are stunning!

I like all types and afraid I wouldn't know to appreciate expensive ones to cheap ones

I buy them is I like the look of them

They are beautiful flowers and one of my favourites

The midnight pompom is one I have purchased today

My Grandad used to grow Dahlias for showing. My memory of them is earwigs!

Never grown them myself.

love dahlias my favourite is gwyneth an orange water lilly it was bred by my dad and is named after my oldest daughter it's popular on the show bench in the water lilly class and is avalable from station house nursery there website is http://www.eurodahlia.com/
That's awesome

Grew a few last year and loved them, have the tubers stored in the garage to plant out in May.  I'll check out the site as I'd like to have a couple of pompom varieties this year.

I love Dahlias, and spent last year being sorry I didn't have more room for them. Now I have an allotment, and intend to indulge, so thank you for the link!

Your welcome

I to could plant as many as I had

Beautiful flowers

Any top tips on growing them? Recently bought Nuit d'Ete and Purple Gem. Can I start them off in large pots and plant them out when the frosts have past or is it better to plant the tubers (are they tubers?) directly into the ground?
