UK Veg Gardeners

I hate eating them and have done since a kid. I put it down to being sat down and forced to eat before I left the table to go back out and play. It's now got that stigma surrounding it.

However, I do love to grow them. I used to like to grow Greyhound as they were hard and pointed but then I discovered Ramco.

It is a large firm, hard centered cabbage, similar to a large football. The colour is a nice dark green with a good shiny condition.

I grew some last year that reached 32Ib in weight

I have just this weekend, planted mine out on the plot, from their 5" pots and hope they will be as big as the one above

What is your favorite cabbage to grow and why ?

That's a lot of coleslaw

Dear god almighty....them up there are big!!

I have triedGreyhound pointed and they are nice. I have planted Savoy this year too!

I'm not a cabbage fan, but I will eat Savoy, so I am going to try growing some this year, Dont think they will be as big as yours Darren, can you give me any tips on growing them.

Being new to the Exhibiton veg. growing scene,I have gone for Giant Cabbage Robinsons Champion, a variety that can attain a weight of 100 lb plus, want a competition Blicky ??????

This variety is Ramco, a well known large cabbage

Give plenty of water and feed high nitrogen, weekly

I was a bit disappointed last week to find the storms had hit them for six

I put some late protection around them, but maybe too little too late
